May 3rd we have a General PTA meeting at 5:45pm.

Please look over the volunteer opportunities listed below. We need to fill a few positions for next year. We have some people transitioning out of positions because each person can only serve for two years per position. Please look over the positions and think about what skills and talents you can bring to our PTA. Our wonderful PTA relies on volunteer support to make everything happen for our students, staff, and school.

 Board Positions:

President- The president is elected as the presiding officer and leads the PTA in cooperation with the other members of the executive board.

VP Memberships- The PTA Leader tasked with recruiting members plays an important role in the success of the PTA because a growing and engaged membership is the lifeblood of any PTA and is the foundation of achieving our mission to make every child's potential a reality.

Programs- PTAs offer a variety of programs for parents, students, and educators to empower them with knowledge and new skills, all while building a sense of community within the school.

Room Reps- Responsible for helping teachers with reaching out to parents to volunteer for class/school events.

Secretary- The secretary is responsible for keeping accurate records of all association proceedings.

Treasurer- The treasurer is the authorized custodian of the funds of the association and receives and disburses all monies in accordance with the budget as approved by the association membership.

 Non-Board Positions:

Parliamentarian- The parliamentarian advises the board of directors and members on matters of parliamentary procedure, and serves as a consultant, especially in a meeting, where only the chair has the authority to rule on questions of order or to answer parliamentary inquiries.

Historian- The PTA may have a tradition that a history book or scrapbook be compiled including all activities sponsored by the PTA and includes the Historian Report. This book should be kept in a convenient place, such as the school library or office. In this case, the Historian is usually a designated position and NOT the responsibility of the Secretary.

Teacher appreciation- organizes Teacher Appreciation events

Spirit wear/fundraiser- in charge of spirit wear and organizing fundraisers
