CAE Choose Teacher of the Year!

Each year the staff and CAE choose one exceptional educator that goes above and beyond to care for and encourage students as their Teacher of the Year.  This year, the award goes to our Special Education/Resource teacher Ms. Janelle Edwards!  Thank you, Ms. Edwards for your time and dedication to helping our Vikings be the best they can be.

Here is a little about Ms. Edwards:

I am honored to have received “Teacher of the Year” from Charlotte Anderson Elementary.  This school is so full of absolutely incredible teachers.  All of them play such an intricate part of a puzzle to make these students successful.  I’m so proud of be part of it.  I love all the students, families, teachers and administration.

I have taught at CAE since 2015.  I started as an English as a Second Language teacher.  I taught students from all of the world; China, Jordan, Iran and France.   In 2016, I started teaching Special Education.  I have absolutely loved working with this population of students.  The teachers and I work closely together to bridge the gaps and use specially designed instruction in order to make them successful.

I have taught for 20 years and have worked with students from many different cultures, backgrounds and locations throughout Texas and Colorado. I believe that all students have the ability to grow academically, but need to possess the “I can do this” attitude. I try to foster students to believe in themselves. I also build relationships with each student and encourage them to do their very best.

I currently live in Mansfield, Texas with my twin daughters Kennedy and Addison, who are thirteen years old. We enjoy traveling and spending time together.

Congratulations, Ms. Edwards!
